Your journey begins with an in-depth consultation where our dentists in Everett evaluate your overall oral health, jaw structure, and bite alignment. Instead of using messy, uncomfortable putty impressions that cause gagging, we pass our modern iTero 3D intraoral digital scanner gently over your teeth.
In just a few quick minutes, the iTero scanner captures thousands of high-definition 3D images to create an exact digital model of your mouth. Custom Digital Treatment Planning & 3D Preview
Using specialized computer software, your dentist custom-designs a step-by-step roadmap for your smile transformation. Every individual tooth movement is digitally mapped out with extreme precision, calculating the exact amount of gentle pressure required at each stage.
One of the most exciting aspects of this phase is that we can show you a 3D digital simulation of your entire treatment progress—allowing you to see a virtual preview of what your finished, beautifully aligned smile will look like before your first set of aligner trays is even manufactured!
Precision aligner fabrication & fitting appointment
Once your digital blueprint is finalized, your custom series of clear aligners is fabricated using patented SmartTrack® medical-grade thermoplastic material. This smooth, BPA-free material is flexible, durable, and specifically engineered for gentle, predictable tooth movement. Each aligner is laser-trimmed along your exact gumline for a sleek, comfortable fit that won't irritate your delicate cheek or soft tissue.
At your initial fitting appointment, your dentist verifies that the first set of trays fits securely and places small, tooth-colored composite "attachments" (tiny discreet bumps) on select teeth if extra leverage is needed for complex rotations.
Daily wear & progressive smile alignment
You take home your first series of aligners and wear each set for about 1 to 2 weeks, for 20 to 22 hours per day. You easily pop your aligners out whenever you want to eat meals, drink anything other than water, brush, or floss. As you advance through the numbered series of aligner trays, each new set applies subtle, controlled force to specific teeth, gradually shifting them closer to their ideal final positions.
You will return to our office every 6 to 8 weeks for quick progress checks, allowing your dentist to monitor your movement and send you home with your next set of trays.
Completing treatment & retaining your results
Once you reach your final aligner set and your teeth are perfectly aligned, we conduct a final evaluation to ensure your bite fits together harmoniously and comfortably.
To protect your investment and prevent your teeth from gradually drifting back toward their original positions, we provide custom clear retainers (such as Vivera retainers). Made from durable material similar to your aligners, wearing your retainers while sleeping keeps your new, radiant smile straight, stable, and healthy for a lifetime.
